April: Things I'm Loving Lately
We're half way through April and the weather is looking like spring, finally!
I hope you all are enjoying the warmer weather, longer days, cherry blossoms, and the thicccc layer of pollen that's settled on just about everything.
I thought I would keep things light and breezy this week with a list of my current favourites and things I'm loving. Let's get into it!
1. Simple Monthly Meat and Seafood Delivery: Shop for clean, locally sourced meat options online tailored for BC residents and minimize trips to the grocery store. With truLOCAL, enjoy high-quality animal protein, rich in essential nutrients like iron and B vitamins. Experience superior taste, texture, and nutritional benefits, including healthier fats and reduced exposure to antibiotics and hormones. Support animal welfare and the environment while enjoying the unmatched flavour of truLOCAL meat over generic grocery store brands!
2. Kelp Noodles: Get 10% off your first order of $59.00 or more at Natura Market using code: ALICIA10
These noodles are cheaper from Natura Market than Whole Foods, but you can also get them from Amazon. I've been making a ginger-soy stir fry with tons of veggies and whatever protein I have on hand. I top it with sesame seeds, green onion, cilantro, and sriracha. It's so delicious!
BENEFITS OF KELP NOODLES:
♡ gluten free
♡ dairy free
♡ low fat
♡ contain calcium, iron & Vitamin K
♡ fab source of iodine
Iodine helps with thyroid function and is especially important for people with low thyroid function.
They're lower in calories and fibre, so make sure you're adding veggies and protein to whatever you're making with these noodles.
HOT TIP: Soak them in water, 1 tbsp of baking soda, and some fresh lemon juice for about 10 minutes, rinse and then add to your dish!
3. Kerastase Shampoo & Conditioner: After noticing a persistent build-up, I sought out this dynamic duo and haven't looked back since! Not only does my hair feel stronger, but it's also less frizzy and healthier overall. I'm hooked on using this luxurious shampoo and conditioner about three times a week to keep my hair looking and feeling its best!
4. Merit Bronze Balm Sheer Sculpting Bronzer: When it comes to adding a touch of colour and definition without the hassle of a full contour, Merit's Bronze Balm is my holy grail. I'm all about simplicity, and this bronzer effortlessly blends to perfection. For my skin tone, the shade 'Quince,' gives me just the right amount of colour for a natural, sun-kissed glow, without the need for high maintenance contouring.
5. Merit Glow Dewy Highlighting Balm: Made for daytime, this highlighter gives a dewy, balmy sheen with zero sparkle. I'll add this to the inside corners of my eyes, just below my eyebrows, on my cheek bones, and my cupid's bow.
6. Dermaplane razors: I've been using these razors for about a year now, and I absolutely love the result! My skin care products and makeup penetrate my skin better! Dermaplaning is great for:
Brighter, more youthful skin tone.
Removing small hairs or peach fuzz.
Smoother skin.
Ease hyperpigmentation.
Evening skin tone.
Removing bacteria and clearing pores to limit breakouts.
NOTE: These are quite sharp, so proceed with caution.
7. Lululemon Shorts: To be fully transparent, I haven't got these shorts yet, but they're in the mail! After trying them on in-store, I was instantly sold and knew I had to have them. I'm anticipating them to be my go-to shorts for summer 2024. A heads-up: they run large, so I opted for a small instead of my usual medium. They're made from cotton but resembling linen, I chose the white pair for a classic, versatile look.
8. Timeless Mirror: We got this mirror about 2 months ago, and it has undeniably transformed our living room for the better! Not to mention, it serves as the perfect backdrop for my outfit selfies. With its timeless gold border and elegant arched top, I couldn't be happier with this purchase.
9. LMNT: Holy sh*t where have these electrolytes been all my life?!?! These electrolytes are hands down the best I've ever tried! While I've only tried the Chocolate Salt flavour so far, I'm excited to try the Chocolate Caramel and Chocolate Mint. For those who haven't experienced LMNT yet, simply mix the packet with hot water and enjoy. It's like a nostalgic trip back to childhood hot chocolate, minus the mini marshmallows. The deets for one packet:
5 calories
1000mg salt
200mg potassium
60mg of magnesium
Okay, that's a wrap! I hope you enjoyed reading this little list of things that I've been loving lately. HIT REPLY and let me know what you've been loving lately:)
