My Bachelorette Weekend + Workouts
Picture this...
Imagine being a self-proclaimed lover of control, a die-hard Taylor Swift fan, and on the brink of your upcoming wedding. In the midst of it all, your closest friends come together to plan an extraordinary surprise: your bachelorette party. The catch? They're keeping the location under wraps, leaving you in delightful suspense. As you step into the unknown, little do you know that a Taylor Swift wonderland awaits, ready to sweep you off your feet.
From the moment you enter the door, you're instantly transported into a realm of enchantment, curated with every detail in mind. The ambiance is set, and the sound of "Karma" fills the air, setting the stage for an unforgettable weekend.
Did I spark your interest enough to keep reading? I hope so!
I'm sitting here at the kitchen counter, I find myself surrounded by my three go-to beverages - Zevia, decaf coffee, and water. Today, I'm struggling to decide what to write about, still riding the wave of one of the most unforgettable weekends spent with my closest friends. It almost feels strange to talk about anything else.
However, I do want to offer you something valuable in this newsletter, so keep reading because I'll be sharing my lower body workout from today and a core/cardio circuit I did last week.
For those who are new here, let me fill you in on some exciting news: I'm getting married on August 12th, 2023! This past weekend, my friends, some of whom I've known since grade 1 and 2, planned the most thoughtful and flawless bachelorette weekend for me. It was an experience that truly embodied who I am.
Despite my love for control (which made not knowing the location quite the adventure), they surprised me with a Taylor Swift-themed bachelorette party that felt nothing short of magical. As I walked into the condo, I was greeted by a Taylor Swift wonderland, with "Karma" playing in the background and everyone wearing matching T-shirts that said, "Alicia Found Her Lover".
Throughout the weekend, we played games (some involving phallic-shaped objects, obviously), savoured delicious food, squeezed in a workout, visited the Scandinave Spa, danced until past midnight (a significant achievement for me!), and shared laughter that made my stomach ache and eyes fill with tears.
They truly speak my love language, as they gifted me a basket filled with my favorite things - dark chocolate, bags of coffee, local skincare and haircare products, body lotions and scrubs, and gummies.
Above all, the best part of it all was simply being in the company of my amazing girlfriends. Many of them are now moms, some are happily married or in long-term relationships, and all juggle demanding jobs (some even have multiple jobs).
The fact that we could come together for a weekend in Whistler felt like pure magic and made me feel nostalgia for the days when we used to hang out without the weight of adult responsibilities. It also made me appreciate our time together even more, realizing the effort it takes to plan and execute such a memorable weekend.
It made me realize that a yearly girls trip should be mandatory because my heart is so full!
